      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello - once I upgraded my computer to Windows 11, the LJ scan utility disappeared from the applications menu.&amp;nbsp; I reinstalled the utility, but it still does not appear.&amp;nbsp; Any ideas?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Please reinstall your CanoScan LiDE 300 on your computer following these steps:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; Disconnect the USB cable from your CanoScan LiDE 300.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;On your computer, please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;In the Run window that appears, please type CONTROL and click OK.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="control.jpg" style="width: 395px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/69684iD97DD5726C93A7C2/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="control.jpg" alt="control.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;4.&amp;nbsp; In Control Panel, click on Uninstall a program.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="uninstall.jpg" style="width: 899px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/69685iA1BA86E77D57A841/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="uninstall.jpg" alt="uninstall.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;5.&amp;nbsp; In the list, click on and uninstall the LiDE 300 drivers and IJ Scan Utility.&amp;nbsp; If they are not in the list, please go to next step.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;6.&amp;nbsp; Next, we will install.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;Please click this link:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/canoscan-lide-300#DOWNLOADS" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Canon Support for CanoScan LiDE 300 - Downloads&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;7. Click on &lt;STRONG&gt;Software &amp;amp; Drivers&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;8. Choose "&lt;STRONG&gt;Windows&lt;/STRONG&gt;" from the Operating System drop down and then "&lt;STRONG&gt;Windows 11&lt;/STRONG&gt;" from the Version drop down.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;9. Click the Download button to the right of "&lt;STRONG&gt;CanoScan LiDE 300 Scanner Driver Ver.1.01 (Windows)&lt;/STRONG&gt;".&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;10. Once that file finishes, please open or run that file to begin the installation on your computer. If you have to search for the file first, the files name is: "&lt;STRONG&gt;sc68-win-lide300-1_01-ea34_2.exe&lt;/STRONG&gt; "&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;11. Follow the on screen prompts to reinstall. Please reconnect the USB cable only when the installation prompts you to.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Once reinstalled, please click the Windows button at the bottom of your screen and then "All Apps" or "All".&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In the menu that appears, click on the Canon Utilities folder and then the IJ Scan Utility to open that application.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Rick,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This IS my thread.&amp;nbsp; The steps I took are those recommended by Patrick, above.&amp;nbsp; This all happened after I upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10.&amp;nbsp; My Canon printer driver was not affected, but the Utilities folder for the scanner does not appear in any Windows 11 menu, and there is no executable I could find for the scanner utility to create a short cut, so I have no way to use this scanner on this machine.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My Windows specs are as follows:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Edition Windows 11 Home&lt;BR /&gt;Version 24H2&lt;BR /&gt;Installed on ‎8/‎19/‎2025&lt;BR /&gt;OS build 26100.4946&lt;BR /&gt;Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.197.0&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;What do you mean by "upgraded" to Windows 11? An upgrade on top of 10, or a complete fresh install of 11?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If the former, something went awry in the system. I would urge you to backup all your data and wipe the hard drive and do a fresh 11 install. The upgrades in place aren't completely dependable.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
