I double checked the model and it is correct.

After performing a factory reset on a DR-G2140 there is residual data data that does not get deleted on the SD card that can be viewed via a hex viewer program. Is the a way to format the SD card and reinstall the firmware so information is not left on the SD card?

The DR-G2140 does not have an SD Card.

Greetings,

I had a feeling you might be talking about non-volatile memory. Is there a reason why you're disassembling the device?

Is this something you plan to give away or sell?

You're probably going to have to check with Canon Support because there is no documentation that discusses what that SD card is used for. It's not typically an item that a user would interact with under normal use.

We plan on reselling it and there cannot be any traces data that would identify our organization for compliance purposes. I check the micro-SD card using a hex viewer and it showed there was residual data on the card after the factory reset was performed. On a side note the SD card on the motherboard stores the firmware from what I have gathered because I took it out and the device would not load without it. Thank you for your reply. I'll check with support on this one and see what they say.
