Imageformula R40 scanner scans back of page first

Good afternoon!

When I scan a single page on a Canon ImageFormula R40 (inserted with back of page to the feeder and front page upright facing me) it scans the back page only. Should I turn the front of the page into the scanner? Also when scanning a stack of pages I stack them in order of first to last page, with all pages facing me just as I would read them and not inverted. But the document shows upside down and with the back page being the first page in Capture One Touch. Am I supposed to flip the whole stack of pages upside down with the first page facing the back of the feed? I've never experienced this on the DR series so I'm wondering.
