Hello,

I am attempting to scan objects that are placed in transparent boxes, and are therefore a few millimeters above the window of my LiDE 400. My issue appears to be the same as this unresolved one: https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Scanners/Canon-Lide-400-Scanner-Blurry-Help/m-p/370398

I am using the LiDE 400 with a PC running on Windows 11, and I've explored all the options I've found in ScanGear 20.0.40.

Is the hardware of the LiDE 400 able to focus farther away from the window, either by shifting the focus area or by doing something analoguous to closing the aperture of a camera?

Thanks for your help!

The answer to both questions is NO.

A scanner is focused on the top surface of the glass. This isn't adjustable. Anything above to glass surface won't be in focus.

Thank you for your answer.

The reason I am asking is that the exact same setup works with other scanners. I'm not sure whether this is because other models have higher depth of field or the focus distance can be adjusted.
