help installing my imageFORMULA R40 on my new computer

I need help installing my canon imageformula R40 on to my new computer. I can't find the paperwork to install and when I go to the canon website and download what I think is the right thing, it tells me it is damaged and to manually add to my trash. Any thoughts how to install this scanner?

I am connecting my scanner via USB

Drivers for your scanner can be found here:

Canon Support for imageFORMULA R40 Office Document Scanner | Canon U.S.A., Inc.

Please disconnect the device and restart your MAC.

Run the R40 Installer for MAC. Do not connect the device until prompted.

Once complete, run the TWAIN Driver Installer. Restart and test.

Unfortunately I'm still getting the notice to remove and move to trash. Is there another way or something I'm doing wrong?

I'm at work, so have a windows device currently. but I am not having any issues downloading or saving.

Try a different browser.
