Canon DR-7550C pulls partial page, gives No Page Was Found error (-4401)

Our 7550 was having trouble pulling pages through so I replaced the rollers. Now it won't pull them at all. It starts to, then it sounds like the page is getting stuck on something, possibly the retard rollers, then I get the message that No page was found in the feeder with the error code -4401. I've checked all the rollers, I've cleaned all the glass and sensors, I've tried the count only trick (same thing). The tray rises, it starts to pull the paper, the paper shakes sometimes, then it just gives up. Any ideas?

did you ever get this resolved? if so, how, i am having the same issue but on different model.

No. I ended up buying another scanner, same model--11 months later and the same problem started happening. I just did a search to see if this has been talked about any more and found my original post. Sigh.
