    <description>&lt;P&gt;In preparing to recycle my CanoScan LiDE 220 scanner, I want to clear any residual scan and/or fax data from its memory. However, I am unable to find instructions on how to do so for this particular device. As far as I can tell, neither the owner's manual nor the IJ scanner software addresses doing a factory reset or other memory-clearing procedure. I would appreciate receiving guidance from a product expert on this matter. Thank you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The LIDE 220 does not save any of your scans on the scanner itself. It does not have a hard drive and only has volatile memory that clears when it's unplugged.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The CanoScan 9000F does not have a memory in which previous scans are saved.&amp;nbsp; There is nothing to clear when the scanner is unplugged, as the scanner is not capable of retaining that information.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
