I turned the power off and on again and that seemed to have worked... glad there's not an issue.

I'm setting up the PIXMA PRO-100 printer I recently purchased. I had just finished completing the step of inserting all ink tanks and closed the top cover. I made sure all the ink lamps were lit and that the inner cover was closed prior to closing the top cover. The next instruction on the setup guide is to wait for 2 minutes until the power lamp flashes and stays lit, after the top cover has closed. This did not happen, and instead the POWER lamp and ALARM lamp started alternatively flashing. When I open the top cover the print head holder does not move back to the opening for me to view the ink cartridges and print head.

Greetings,

What happened (likely). The printer performs a series of checks during power up, install and initialization. If something doesn't pass, you get an error condition. The power cycle reset this check. This got you on your way.
