topic PRO-1 failed initial setup in Professional Photo Printers

I purchased a PRO-1 this evening and started installing the printer.

I was very careful to follow each step, reading it twice and then performing it. I installed the ink tanks. Carefully removed the print head from the packaging, inserted it in the print head holder. The Joint Lever clicked closed without any fuss. Reassembled the Head Cover and closed the Top Cover.

The power light began flashing for a few moments, then the Yellow alarm light started flashing with the power light. I counted 10 flashes.

The instructions say to reseat the print head if the yellow light flashes. Nothing I do can get the print head back into position to reseat it. After an hour of frustration I power cycled it. This has obviously interupted the initial setup procedure and I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Canon's support solution is for me to return the printer to the store or take it to a repair shop 20 miles away.

I think I know what I'm going to do.

Very disappointed.
