Hi lpsayo,

The PIXMA PRO-10 will be compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina. The drivers will be available from the Support Page of your PIXMA PRO-10. Once they are ready, you can access the downloads using this link:

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/professional-large-format-printers/professional-inkjet-printers/pro-10?tab=drivers_downloads

I have a Pro-100, but I suspect it will be the same for Pro-10.

1. Delete the printer from Systems & Printers.

2. Download the Mojave driver.

3. Reinstall the printer, being sure you wait for the IJ Series printer to show up.

I just did all that and the printer works fine printing from Lightroom.

Thank you for posting this. This resolved the printer driver problem. I found there was one additional step to get my printer back in action -- reinstalling Print Studio Pro. To do that, download the recently updated drivers for Mac OS Catalina (linked above by the Canon rep), then go to Applications / Canon Utilities / Print Studio Pro. Reinstall the plugin. Once I did that I was back in business.

I have downloaded the latest printer driver as instructed. When I go to the Canon pro-10 printer driver site, it says "Mac OS X (Detected) under Operating System, but no drivers or software are available. However, if I select a pulldown on the operating system and select Catalina macOS v10.15, I do get driver Ver 16.40.0.0 Mac as an option, but no software. I deleted my old printer under system settings, turned it on, and reinstalled picking up the new driver. Printer now works just fine on smaller prints off Apple Photos. My workflow for larger prints however is to take an external editor extension off Apple Photos sending a photo to Photoshop Elements 2020 (FYI, bought software upgrade to get compatibility to Catalina....not the only fee I paid for 3rd party compatitiblity). I then invoke Print Studio Pro out of automation tools pulldown. Re-installied Print Studio Pro 2.2.3 plug-in via its installer. It doesn't recognize PSE 2020 as a supported product, but if I hit next, can install to PSE's sub folder plug-in folder under it's application folder. When I now try to invoke Print Studio Pro through PSE's automation tools menu item, I get the message "An error has occurred. Exiting Print Studio Pro." Unfortunately, when I try to print a large image through PSE itself, I get a message that print will occur at less than 300 dpi, which is why I have always used Print Studio Pro.

I know, too much detail. I did so however just in case I didn't follow installation steps properly (if anyone cares to comment) and also for any other poor photographer that had counted on Print Studio Pro in the past out of PSE. Am hopeful that a new version of Print Studio Pro will appear some day soon, otherwise I am SOL on printing large formats. Is anyone else in this situation or am I doing something wrong.

That's the correct one. 300 dpi is the correct default setting for Canon printers.

You don't need PSP. It helps with PS for folks who have trouble configuring Photoshop to print. But if you are comfortable configuring PS then you are OK w/o it.

John, went back and printed a tabloid size photo right from PSE and it came out really well. Am going to stop wasting time on Print Shop Pro and just check every once in a while to see if there is an update. Liked that product as printer has a tendency to print a bit dark, which I think has been documented. In Print Shop Pro can set it to lighten before print. Also liked the Pro Mode profile. Use PSE anyway at times to do quick and dirty smart edit on old scanned photos. Luminar and Affinity Photo editors are my go tos, the former also waiting on a Catalina update, which at least I have a release date in November. Not so sure how fast Canon will be to address Print Shop Pro. Don't see alot of complaints against it, so wonder who many folks really use it.

Anyone else notice that in Catalina you are unable to select different paper profiles? Every time you change it from standard to fine art paper, say, it always immidiately defaults back to platinum pro. This makes it impossible to print on any fine art papers at the moment.

I've tried in PS, LR, PSP and have tried reinstalling drivers. Here's a topic that goes more in depth on this issue:

https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Professional-Photo-Printers/Pro-10-Printing-Issue-with-Catalina/td-p/285875#

Anyone else out there experiencing this? If this is a driver issue it needs to be fixed ASAP!

Hi. PSP is not required but it certainly helps refine the printing process. It offers much better ability to fine tune your image then does the standard Elements software. I am able to continue to use the software because I have access to a laptop that is running Mojave and PSP 14, but that depends on when the laptop owner isn’t using it. I think Canon should be more helpful in getting that upgrade done, or at least letting users know if and when they will wake from their slumber. Apple had been letting users know about the change to 64-bit for some time before the switchover.

Does anyone know if Epson is able to work well with Catalina?

I agree with canonsky. I can print right out of any of the four editors I use, but none of them gives me the flexibility of PSP out of Photoshop Elements plugin. Not sure how excited Canon is to update PSP as it is not critical to them selling printers as just been said. Not doing so only screws up the workflow for their existing users. That being said, I am waiting on at least one critical app to be updated that is still 32 bit. PSP is not 32 bit or it wouldn't run at all on Catalina. The effort to update it can't be on the same scale, just not on the top of Canon's list. Guessing that if you really wanted the features Catalina brings (love Sidecar), but wanted to wait until all third parties got their act together, you might wait a long time.
