Thanks JR. Mac OS 10.5 will run on an intel processor or PPC. I tried running the installer from the Canon site and it's not possible.

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. My brother gave me a new Pixma Pro 100 printer. It seems that for Macintosh users, I must have an Intel based procesor on my computer. I have an old Power PC processor. A G5 to be exact. Does Canon have a PPC driver for the Pixma Pro 100?

Thanks!

Looks like OS 10.5 is the latest OS to support PPC.

According to the Canon download site the setup utility supports 10.5

Hope this helps; I'm not a Mac user.

Hello.

Unfortunately, the PIXMA PRO-100 is not compatible with PowerPC computers. The unit can only be installed on Intel-based Macs that are running OS 10.5.8 or later. I apologize for this inconvenience.
