My old Pixma Pro9500 mk II had a dedicated Art Paper Printing Guide download.

The dedicated download for my new Pixma Pro-10 says that it is for the Pixma Pro-1. However, there are dedicated pixma pro-10 Art Paper Printing Guides available in other countries (Australia for example). What is going on?

Clarification: I am not talking about ICC profiles for non_canon papers or from other manufacturers. With the 9500 mk II certain papers required setting the driver to a different paper in order for the ICC profile to work properly.

please help

The recommended media type and paper feed would be the same regardless of printer because the paper is the same. Just the ICC profile would be different.

Most third party papers provide ICC profiles and setting recommendations as well.

Thank you for your response. I thought that since the pro 100 uses dyes, not pigments, that the settings would be different from those of the pro-10. Along those same lines the pro 1 has inks that are lacking in the pro 10 and I thought that would also require different settings. You seem to be saying that each printer's software takes this into account?

The ICC profiles compensate for that. The profiles are created by printing a known pattern of colors on the paper and the profiling software creates a profile that makes the colors look correct.

So that seems to be more the case with the pro-10 &100 series than the pro9500 series. Here is Canon's additional data for using fine art paper for the pro-10 and 100:

https://www.usa.canon.com/CUSA/assets/app/html/pro-10-100_art_paper_printing_guide/html/iccg012.htm#PRO-10
