The black ink will work then fade to scratchy gray and then eventually purple or blue. The cartridge is full and I have performed every cleaning. The problem does not stop. It was fine a few weeks ago when I last printed and now its acting up. Please help!!

If you've performed two deep cleanings and still have the problem give canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON and see if you can be covered under warranty.

If not, then Google print head cleaning and give it a try. You have nothing to lose before you buy a new head.

If you wind up needing a new head check for any rebates that might be current.

I found one place with a rebate where final price is $149. That's with new ink.
