ix6850 smudges even after all cleaning

Hi,

Our 10month old (infrequently used) ix6850 a3 printer is now smudging our prints (please see image below - ignore 'ghosted text' elements at empty bottom area as this is on the reverse side showing through).

As you can see, the test print quality is OK with no broken lines or dodgy colours, but the smudges to the right of the page are really quite bad.

All ink cartridges have been renewed and all cleaning methods have been executed including prevent paper abrasion in custom settings but with no change.

Can anyone advise as to what the problem is here and how can it be resolved.
