topic imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 Two+ months unused and humidity. in Professional Photo Printers

Hi all,

in the coming summer time my 1100 will not be used for two and a half months. During this time for all sorts of reasons I will not be able to run periodic print tests. Moreover, the printer stays in an environment that will likely get hot (30C and more) and quite humid.

I am buying a dry cabinet for my photo gear. The cabinet does not modify the temperature but keeps the humidity between 30% and 60%. For my photo gear I will set the humidity inside the cabinet to 40%.

Would it help to remove the print head from the 1100 and store it in the cabinet for those two and a half months? I understand the question sounds bizarre and perhaps it is 🙂

Or maybe not ...

Thanks!

Yours sounds like a very unique use case/situation. Unless anyone here has experienced in your same situation and can comment I would suggest you call Canon and ask them this question and follow their advice.
