Good morning,

When printing A2 colour prints my printer often(not always) stops approx 75 per cent of the way through, waits a while then ejects and incomplete print. Im using hard wire not wifi, ive restarted the print spooler, but it still keeps happening.

Any ideas what it might be ?

thanks.

Simon.

I have that printer and do not have that problem. That's a lot of expensive ink and paper to lose. I would contact Canon via your account login and registration page. The phone number in the US is 1-800-423-2366 M-F 9AM to 6PM.

It seems most likely that it would be on your computer end as the printer will give up after a period of non-communication. What Canon application are you using to print? Print Professional and Layout? What computer type and OS are you using? I assume Windows since you mention the spooler. I would make sure, especially if it is a laptop, that it is plugged in and your power settings while plugged in do not allow hibernation, etc..

Please make sure your OS and drivers are up to date. You can also reinstall the print software. Be aware that the Control Panel does not totally remove all Canon SW elements. I have a post on how to do that at https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Printer-Software-Networking/Professional-Print-and-Layout-Canon-imagePROGRAF-PRO-310-Windows/td-p/589276.

Seems to be a driver/memory problem with large prints. Update driver, try a draft print and ensure adequate spool space. Try an altenative cable/port.
Thankyou
