topic imagePROGRAF PRO-300 How to reset rendering intent in Professional Photo Printers

I have an ImageProGraf Pro 300, when I use PS 2026 and print a photo I have set the print setting as indicated in attached and have configured the Color Management section as in the attached. You can see that the Rendering intent is greyed out and is set to Perceptual, while I have configured the rendering intent in the color management section of the Print panel to "Relative Colorimetric" which I want to use.

My first question is will this cause an issue to have rendering intent set differently in the print setting and Color management sections?

Second question is How do I change the default setting of perceptual in the print setting to relative Colorimetric?

thanks in advance for your help

I believe that having Photoshop different than you printer settings could definitely have some undesirable effects. I'm not familiar with the interaction, but your printer setup is telling you "Remember to disable the printer's color management in the print settings dialog box." I'm assuming that you would need to do that and then have PS take control of the color management and it not being disabled is conflicting with PS. At least I would try doing what the warning suggests and see if that works out for you.

Whiz - thank you, so if I understand what you are saying is even though I can't change the rendering intent in the Print Setting within the the PS print dialog panel, where within the print settings do i disable printer's color management. Is it in the color Management area where I change "color handling" from Printer Manage colors TO Photoshop Managing colors? If so, does this override the rendering intent setting in the Printer setting section which is defaulted to perceptual when I choose "Relative Colorimetric" as the rendering intent in the Color Management section

I'm not an expert on this, so until a real expert shows up, I'd say "Yes" and "Yes" - try that.. I would expect you should be able to set to "Relative Colormetric" within PS and PS will override (not really override, but be in total control). That seems, to me, to be implied.
