topic Pro 1000 - Scratches On Printed Image in Professional Photo Printers

We have run into an issue when printing. As the printing begins, we are seeing a series of scratches appear on the paper in the first two inches or so. This happens on all prints regardless of size. After the initial scratches, the rest of the page prints just fine. Any thoughts on what is happening and how to correct it?
