Hi all! I have a PRO-100 that I've had for many years. This one document I'm trying to print refuses to print correctly. (Windows 11 - Microsoft WORD). This is being printed on plain paper. I've tried the "clogged head" test page and it comes out fine. Any suggestions? This picture is a comparison taken with my phone so the quality isn't great, but you get the idea of what is happening. I am not very tech savvy, so be gentle.

Thanks for any help!

First, thank you for your help!!!

These are the 3 tabs I have.

As far as I know, yes. This is the current Canon driver. When in Adobe, I hit print, this comes up, I select the proper printing device (Canon), and it gives me the above. Like I said, I've never changed anything except the type of paper I'm using (ie, photo vs plain). Did Adobe update? I have no idea....

Again, I absolutely appreciate you trying to help me! I'm sorry I can't help you more.

I've not typically used plain paper but anytime I would print a photo on photo paper I would choose the "Photo Printing" option on the "Quick Settings" tab and "High" quality on the "Main" tab. That said, I cannot understand the magenta tint and worry that these changes may not fix that. You might try lying to the printer and tell it you are using glossy photo paper and see if that helps as well. I recall another poster recently having color issues with the rear tray of their printer. If you can use the top tray that might be something to try as well.

Since CMYK uses magenta and cyan to make blue and you seem to have magenta, perhaps you should look into the cyan. Would you please also post your Maintenance tab?

Hmmm....

Why, then, would it print correctly from the Windows Photos app?

And, I do print from the front tray. That being said, the above shows being fed from "Rear Tray", but the choices are "Rear Tray" and "Manual Feed" which changes the picture. I am currently using what is called the "Rear Tray" even though it is the top (front) one.

Good point. I admit to grasping some straws here. I would want to

1) Check ink cartridge status from the Maintenance tab. Again, doesn't explain the difference, just a check. Sometimes a nearly empty cartridge will look ok on the test print. Looks to me like cyan is the most likely one to focus on.

2) Ensure you have the latest printer driver (though I think you may have said you already did that), and any updates to the apps as well. And your OS updates as well. That will take a visit to Canon and the printer site, Adobe SW site, and MS site for Word. (don't know if you said what OS but Apple or Windows Update.)

3) Try the quality and photo settings in Word and print to .pdf files to save color and ink. You may get a perfect pdf and then not be able to print it out successfully. That would narrow it down to the RBG to CMYK conversion as the issue (and we may already be there). That is likely a driver problem of some kind.

4) I see an option to manually adjust the color. You may be able to do something there that would ensure that your cyan if nothing above solves this for you.

5) A call to Canon support would likely ask you to investigate all of the above, so best that you do that before you call, I think.

SO glad it works! Thanks for coming back and letting us know. Wish we knew the reason for stoneyjb who is having the same problem. Taking a stab at some guesses for them:

1) I notice there were MS 365 updates released on 12/9 and 12/16. Hopefully those got downloaded automatically for you and reboot fixed a problem in Word.

2) Go to the printer support page at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-pro-100?srsltid=AfmBOoro15YJbaZn5saQLl9smubNdxPkxwyuw89-UCRTYAdG9GdwYS89. Make sure your the firmware for your OS and drivers are up to date.

3) Be sure your OS updates are current.

4) If none of the above are useful, then I'd fall back to my 12/9 post for troubleshooting, then calling Canon.
