Thanks so much for replying.

Yes the point of having it slide a bit from underneath the desk is to accomodate paper feed tray. Our house was just built wihin the last two years by a very good builder so, the floor is very level and there is no bouncing from people walking on it resulting in a very stable base. The base as shown accomodates the footprint of the printer with a couple of inches overlap. Power is very close by and I will have a UPS for the occassonal power blip.

I have limited locations in our shared home office for the 1100 that will be arriving soon. I am considering a roll out shelf or base on our floor see photo. Do you see any adverse issues for the printer in this location?

This will be fine as long as the back can be folded open to accommodate paper being fed into the printer. The printer also has a leveling sensor on the bottom that requires a level, hard flat surface. Looks fine. 😉

I just measured mine. The top feed tray fully open requires 17" clearance for the plastic. With 17x22" paper you need about 2" more, or 19". The rear top feed tray extends just a bit over 10" from the rear of the printer. The front discharge extends 15.5" in front of the printer. I have mine on a shelf with casters and fold it up when not in use and slide it back against the wall. That works very well for my location. It looks like you are ok, but if you are too tight or just prefer it you could consider adding casters for that shelf and slide it out when you use it and fold it up and tuck it under the desk when not in use. You'd need good casters as the printer is 71.4 lbs. I moved it myself - oof - it would have been better to have two people to get it out of the box.

I just got mine and and the first couple of prints are great - very excited to print more.
