With that said, I bought this **bleep** printer so I need to make it work. I am trying to print 5x7 cardstock. In the print dialogue for a PDF, I click on page setup and change the size to 5x7. I click on printer and change the Quality and Media setting to cardstock.

I press print. The printer spits out a blank sheet with an error message that the paper widths do not match. I change the setting on the printer for the paper type to "other" since 5x7 is not an option. It continues to fail with the same message.

Help.

Does your cardstock meet these limitations?

Hi there, yes, after just setting up the 200S today, I hear your frustration. I'll need to rant for a moment before sharing what I figured out. The instructions Canon provides are next to worthless. Illustrations and no written instructions equal a terrible, lazy approach. I'm really angry about how long it took to figure everything out due to the lack of provided information by this company regarding this product. Anyway, let me get back to your concern which I dealt with too because of my need to print 5x7 prints. On the printer, you need to go into the settings and select (register) the size 5x7. If you're using Canon paper (which I hope you are in order to avoid the potential for additional problems) the only Canon 5x7 paper is called "Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss". After you select 5x7, you then need to select the paper finish and Canon "Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss" is one of the selections and you also need to "register" that one. Additionally, you need to go on to your computer (I use a Mac) and make sure when you pull up the window to print, that you select 5x7 under print size. Other things I did that may or may not have contributed to my success in printing 5x7 prints, I downloaded all the various Canon apps available on the Canon page for this specific printer, I also looked at my printer settings on the computer under "System Settings-Printer aaand (sheesh) I checked to see if the printer was receiving information for Adobe jpgs. It has been a long day figuring this sh-t out thanks to Canon seeming to have zero interest in providing proper instructional materials. Anyway, I hope my information helps you sort things out. The printer does print 5x7s.
