My beloved Prograf Pro 1000 needs a new head, and the heads are so expensive that I am going to replace it with a Prograf Pro 1100. However, I have a full box of new PFI-1000 inks. Can those be safely used in the Pro 1100 if I am willing to have PFI-1000 rather than PFI-4100 quality? The box of PFI-1000 inks is worth roughly half the price of the new printer.

Hi dkoretz,

The PFI-1000 ink tanks are not compatible with the imagePROGRAF PRO-1100. Only the PFI-4100 ink tanks can be used with the imagePROGRAF PRO-1100. Further information can be viewed here:
