I had the same problem. I send an image to PRgraf-1100. The front panel indicates "printing" but nothing happens for 5 minutes. I stop the print job and reset the power. After a lengthy 'maintenance or diagnostic wait, the printer indicates all inks are low and the maintenance cartridge is almost full.

I recently bought a Pro-1100. About every two weeks the printer stops printing. When starting a print job I see on the display that data are transmitted, but nothing happens. No printing, no error message.
If this happens I can not print from any Win-PC in the network. In the meantime I switched from WiFi to Lan. But yesterday the printer stopped printing again.
When switching the printer off and on again the error disappears. I was rather annoyed, when Canon Support in Germany told me that this is a normal behavior and recommended to switch the printer on and off about every 2 weeks. They even told me it is recommended to do this with any Canon printer !
My expectation is that the printer should just work. Switching the printer on and off will waste a lot of ink.
Has anyone got similar "recommendations" from Canon.

Yeah this is 100 NOT acceptable. Canon needs to fix this. I am having the same problem and that's such a costly solution that it's more of a problem than a solution.
