It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with the Canon PRO-200 when printing black and white (B&W) images – color casts (bluish or reddish tones). Here are a few suggestions to help you get true neutral B&W prints:

1. Use the Canon Print Studio Pro (PSP) Plugin:

If you're printing from software like Photoshop or Lightroom, install and use Canon's Print Studio Pro. This plugin often provides better color management and more accurate B&W print options.

2. Select Black and White Print Mode:

When printing, ensure you select the Grayscale or Black and White mode in the printer driver settings. This bypasses some of the color adjustments that may introduce unwanted tints.

3. ICC Profiles and Paper Settings:

Use ICC profiles specifically for the paper you're printing on.

Ensure the correct paper type is selected in the printer driver.

Experiment with Canon's own paper if you're using third-party brands, as their profiles may not be as precise.

4. Disable Printer Color Management:

In your editing software (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.), set the Color Handling to "Photoshop Manages Colors" (or similar). In the Canon driver, set "Color Matching" to None or "Off." This prevents double color management, which can cause tinting.

5. Fine Art Paper Setting Adjustment:

If you're using fine art paper, the “Fine Art” setting in the printer driver may cause slight color casts. Try using the Standard Paper setting with custom ICC profiles to see if the problem persists.

6. Calibration:

Ensure your monitor is calibrated correctly. A monitor with an inaccurate color display can lead to unexpected print results.

7. Print from Different Software:

Try printing the same image using different software (Lightroom, Photoshop, Professional Print & Layout, etc) to rule out software-specific issues.

To reset your Canon Pixma Pro 200 printer to factory settings, follow these steps:

Resetting to Factory Settings:

Turn on the Printer:
Make sure your printer is powered on.

Access the Menu:

Press the Setup button on the printer's control panel (it looks like a wrench or gear icon).

Navigate to Reset Settings:

Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the menu options.

Look for Device settings and press OK.

Scroll down to Reset settings and press OK.

Choose Reset Option:

Select Reset all to return the printer to factory default settings.

You may also see options like LAN settings only or Settings only – choose Reset all for a full reset.

Confirm the Reset:

Press Yes to confirm the reset when prompted.

Restart the Printer:

The printer will reboot and restore to default settings.

After resetting, reconfigure your printer, reconnect it to your network, and reinstall drivers if necessary. This should help clear up any configuration issues.

The type of lighting you are viewing with can also cause a color cast with monochrome prints on some papers.
