My printer has started printing everytihg with a heavy green hue. When I run a print test or color block test it prints beautifully. I have printed several different files and files types and media types and they all come out with a green hue. We have even sent the files from various programs and computers with no change. All my inks are full and in the right slots. We checked and we don't have any clogged nozzels and we are current on firmwear updates. What could be causing this? How can I fix it?

You say the nozzle check prints OK.

What print test and color block test images are you using? Are they the same image type as your own -i.e. JPEG or TIFF?

Are you printing your test images using the same settings and media type as your own images?

Can you post a screen shot of a problem image?

If none of your settings and paper types have changed then the problem would seem to be your printer. Run a cleaning cycle and see if anything changes.

If that doesn’t work register your product on the Canon support site and request support.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I have tried everything, including several deep cleanings of my nozzles. It's super frustrating. I am using the Canon Professional Print and Layout, and I have somewhat solved the issue by overcompensating the Magenta by +45 and that seems to work but images in the Professional Print & Layout looks insane when I do this. So it's not a clogged nozzle because if that were the case, then I would get the same amount of magenta when I overcompensate. Is this a software issue? I have reinstalled drivers & firmware as well. I'm using the correct color profile and paper profile as well.

I’ve seen my printer for inspection in Hong Kong and canon said I was using another brand of ink so probably it’s one of the substitute colour is off. He told me when he use Canon ink it prints out perfectly… so I’m guessing maybe stick to the original brand though it’s more expensive. My guessing is the M or PM ink is off and not the green is not caused by the cyan but lack of M or PM. So by adding more M to the print you offset the colors to correct one…

It sounds like your Canon Pixma Pro 200 is experiencing a color management issue rather than a hardware problem, especially since test prints look fine. Here are a few things to check and adjust to resolve the green tint:

1. Check Color Management Settings:

In your printing software (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.), ensure that Color Management is set to "Photoshop Manages Colors" (or similar).

In the printer driver settings, set Color Correction to None or "Off" to prevent double color profiling.

2. Use the Correct ICC Profiles:

Make sure you're selecting the correct ICC profile for the paper you're using. If the wrong profile is selected, it can result in color shifts.

If you're using third-party paper, download the ICC profiles from the manufacturer.

3. Update and Reinstall Printer Driver:

Uninstall the current printer driver and download the latest version from Canon’s website. A corrupted driver could cause color output issues.

4. Disable "Print Preview" in Printer Driver (Windows):

Sometimes the "Print Preview" option can affect the final print output. Disable it and print directly.

5. Check for Software Conflicts:

Print from a different application or device. If the issue persists across all programs, the problem is likely with the printer driver or color profile settings.

Test print from Canon’s Print Studio Pro plugin if available.

6. Perform a Printer Reset:

Perform a factory reset on your printer by going to the printer’s settings. This can clear any lingering configuration issues.

7. Print in Grayscale (as a Test):

Try printing in grayscale or black and white. If this prints without a green hue, the issue is isolated to the color management settings rather than the ink system.

To reset your Canon Pixma Pro 200 printer to factory settings, follow these steps:

Resetting to Factory Settings:

Turn on the Printer:
Make sure your printer is powered on.

Access the Menu:

Press the Setup button on the printer's control panel (it looks like a wrench or gear icon).

Navigate to Reset Settings:

Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the menu options.

Look for Device settings and press OK.

Scroll down to Reset settings and press OK.

Choose Reset Option:

Select Reset all to return the printer to factory default settings.

You may also see options like LAN settings only or Settings only – choose Reset all for a full reset.

Confirm the Reset:

Press Yes to confirm the reset when prompted.

Restart the Printer:

The printer will reboot and restore to default settings.

After resetting, reconfigure your printer, reconnect it to your network, and reinstall drivers if necessary.

It's the ink. Make sure you're not using a knockoff ink from Amazon. I had the same issue, so I ordered some Canon ink, and it prints perfectly now.

Yup, it's the ink! I just had this issue and it was because I was using Vowdicua brand on Amazon. I switched to the haikyuu brand from Amazon and it's no longer green and ugly, but slightly more orangey.
