I've used my printer for several months and just changed the ink for the first time - nearly all colors were out, and i replaced with genuine canon inks. now my prints (on red river matte paper and normal printer paper) are printing in almost black and white with just a hint of color. I'm trying to send prints for customers and Canon CS is closed for the weekend and i don't know what to do 😞 i did a nozzle check and it seemed like all colors were there, if slightly fainter than i might have liked. any advice??

1. Please run a nozzle check and post a screenshot of it. There is only one way a proper nozzle check will print. Please explain how it is lighter.
2. Why is the print you are posting not white?

3. Verify that when to took the wrap off the cartridges that all was removed. There is a vent hole on the top of the cartridge and if the wrap is blocking the hole ink flow is affected.

Yes, wrap is off and printer confirmed they were successfully installed. Pic is just a color adjustment for the screen so I could show both images. Paper is white. Here are pics of my nozzle check and the paper. What I mean is that I feel the colors are fainter than they should be. I also tried manually adjusting the color and it made no difference.

OK. Understand better. What software are you printing from?

I have a Pro-100, but I think the driver display would be the same. You can adjust the printer output in the driver.

Unless you have a calibrated monitor you really can't make correct judgements on printer output.

Here is a calibrated test image: PrinterEvaluationImage_V002_ProPhoto.tif

Download this file and open it in your editing software. Do not make any adjustments; just open it and print it as you normally would. Evaluate how this image looks. Let me know.

Using adobe photoshop elements which printed fine before I changed the cartridges. What has me worried is that I actually used to have a Pro 100 and this same thing happened and it couldn’t be fixed and I had to get this instead; but this one is only a year old and shouldn’t have died after the first time it needed new ink. I already tried adjusting the colors manually as I mentioned, in the driver, and it made NO difference.

I don't have any solution to offer. From your screenshot the nozzle check looks good. You could call Canon support. 1-800-OK-CANON.
