thanks for the quick response. I assume removing the heads is easy.

I just purchased a Canon Pro 200 printer. There will be times when I'm away and won't be using the printer. Maybe up to 6-8 months a a time it will be idle between uses. What can I do to prevent the heads from clogging?

For that length of time I would recommend removing the print head and cartridges and storing in a ziplock bag. You could also put a damp paper towel in. You want to avoid having the ink dry out.
