Pro1000 power cord extension

I need to add an additional 6 ft to the existing power cord that came with the pro 1000 printer. Does Canon make a power cord extension for the printer? If not, what specs do I need to look for in an extension?

Are you talking about the AC cord from the wall outlet to the power adapter with the figure-8 plug? There's no extension cord with figure-8 male and female ends.

Or the cord that comes out of the power adapter that goes to the printer?

Why can't you use an ordinary AC extension cord?
