Hi,

It sounds like a issue with the ink cartridge or print head and the printer would require service. If you printer is still within it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for this issue. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you do have the option to take it to any local electronic repair shop in your area that can service printers.

You would also qualify for the Canon Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please the Canon Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

Happened twice in a row with two Chroma Optimizer cartridges - all the optimizer was pooling on the print and dripping into unit. Any idea what would cause this and how to repair?
