When I go to Device Manager, select Printers, then CanonPro-100 series, right-click and Update Driver, then Search automatically for drivers, it says, "Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them.

Yes, I downloaded and updated the driver. When I look at the port it tells me that it sees the printer, so that's fine (I just use a cable because there always seems to be a problem trying to use wireless). However, when I install the driver it goes through all of the steps then tells me that the installation failed. No idea why or what to do about it. I did contact HP for help but because it is not an HP printer they are not willing to help me without paying $50 for the assistance. Large companies no longer need customers that encounter problems, which is why all of this is so frustrating.

No. I have set up my old computer in the basement and hooked the printer up to it. When I need to print something I put it on a flash drive, transfer it to the basement computer, and print from there. I wish that Canon would just give me a hint at something to try to get their driver to install on Windows 11. My guess is that it's just something that just doesn't work.

The printer cable is connected and I can see the printer in my USB devices if I check in the control panel. Any word if Canon is going to release a driver for Windows 11 and this printer model?

Hi Patrick,

I've spent hours trying to resolve this problem; following your instructions. In step 9, I can't follow it. I can see the printer there, but it will not let me right click and remove it. I tried it anyway, it keeps saying it can't detect my printer when I get to that stage. Any ideas? Thanks
