Stranded in Africa with a IPF 6400

I am in Africa (Bamako, Mali) with a IPF6400S that has a Hardware Error 03130031-2F26 ("Carriage inoperable").

No Canon dealer or servicing in a 2000 miles radius. So I guess I'll have to sass it out myself.

How do I enter "service mode" on a IPF 6400S printer ? Is it of any use in my case ?

Any help is welcome.
