topic How do you get XMF file into old version of premiere? in Professional Video

I was loaned an XF305 to shoot an event. It produces .XMF file which cannot be imported directly into premiere cs4. Unfortunately, I cannot justify subscribing to the CC suite, which I understand can read XMF file.

A cheap solution I found is to use ffmpeg to demux the XMF file into m2v and wav files and then import them into premiere.

What other ways are there? What is the official way to do this?
