I am having problems transferring my recordings to my PC. I have tried a 6-pin to 6-pin firewire cable and a 6-pin to 4-pin cable. I tried downloading a driver named 1394_OHCI_LegacyDriver.msi suggested from another forum and still the same problem occurs. I am using a Windows 8.1 64-bit pc.

I've tried to import either through Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 or through Windows Movie Maker. When I start capturing the video, the pc rewinds the tape and makes it playback, however the preview window on the pc is black and nothing really captures into the pc. Do you have any suggestions?

Where did you download the FireWire driver from? Take a look at this page from Microsoft on the issue.
