Getting started with XC15: How to record, how to find images, and more

Hello every one! I just joined the forum 1st post.

I am the proud new owner of a really nice hardly used XC15 video camera! hardly used supposedly?? I bet their is a way to see how many pics its done and I bet their is a way to see how many hours of recording its done in its life as well.

UH I dont know anything about it or how it works lol I did down load the quick start guide and the the really big instruction book about it from Cannon.

I also see a bunch of updates on firm ware and other stuff thats available but I have no idea what I need to get this thing and me up to being to turn it on and record anything with it.

I have turned it on and I did take a picture with it but...... ask me how to find that picture? ha! im lost.

Just looking to find some comradery with this thing and learn something new looking forward to it.
