Connection XHA1 to Mac

I am trying to use my XHA! to transfer video to my computer so I can make dvds. I am now using an old JVC with a firewire and it works great except I can only use batteries to opererate it, no power supply.

I want to use my xha1. But I don't find a firewire connection anywhere??? Am I missing it or what?

And if I can't use the firewire, then what?

According to the manual it should be on the rear of the camera to the right of the battery. There should be a flap (cover) that you can open to view the LANC terminal, HD/DV (FireWire) terminal, headphone jack, etc.

It is the port labeled 14 in the image above.
