Hello,

I'm trying to capture mini dv video that was filmed on a canon elura (first elura from 1999) using the progressive mode. All the different software editors I used are capturing the video in 480i 29.97 fps. (Pinnacle Studio, CyberLink PowerDirector, Corel VideoStudio)

I would have expected the video to be non interlaced. Should the video be capture in progressive mode?

Since the elura is broken, I'm using a Canon HV20 camera connected by firewire to a PC.

Should i try getting a elura camcorder with progressive mode? Different software?

I don't believe different software will make a difference at all. However, as you suggested, an Elura with Progressive Mode may be just what you need.
