Printheads nozzles get clocked when they have been initialised in a printer and not used or idle for a long period of time.

So to avoid this you put the printer into transport mode which will in the process drain out all inks in the printhead so to make it ink empty hence not making ink clock on the heads nozzles. But remember you have to re initialise when ready to put the printer into use.

We've got two large printers, iPF9400 and 4600S, and we are planning on not using them for at least a year.

Last time I left the iPF9400 alone (during the COVID shutdown), I came back to it needing both print heads replaced. I'd like to avoid that this time. Is there a proper procedure for long term storage of large format printers that are full of ink to avoid problems when restarting?

thanks,
