imagePROGRAF PRO-2600 doesn't recognize PDF File on USB Thumb Drive

Hello all,

I am a Mac user and am running OSX 15.6 and am trying to print out a PDF file from a USB thumb drive. I do not have a a USB B to USB C cable yet. I just finished setting up the printer. Do I need to reformat the thumb drive? Is it the way that Adobe saves a PDF file? Is it because I am a Mac user? Any help or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We've made two different imagePROGRAF printers with the number 2600 in their name, so please let us know whether you have the imagePROGRAF PRO-2600 or the imagePROGRAF GP-2600S. Right off hand I don't recall all the supported formatting options on a USB drive. (FAT, NTFS or APFS) I've used FAT and NTFS. I mostly use windows. I'll format a USB stick on a MAC (Sequoia) today and see if it can be read.

EDIT. AI search says APFS is not supported. Not sure if this is 100% accurate but its likely true.

It is the imagePROGRAF PRO-2600. I was able to get a USB B to USB A cable from our IT department and add an USB A to USB C adapter to get my poster printer printed. I still would like to figure out the USB A issue, so that faculty can just plug in and print.

I think @shadowsports is onto something with the formatting of the drive. Or perhaps USB 2.0 versus USB 3.0. Or both 🙂

I think that you are onto something. So it might be the formatting and/or USB 2.0 versus USB 3.0?

Might be the file format? It looks like the Professional Print and Layout only accepts TIFF and JPG.
