I've Canon Pro 2600 printer and I've been struggling with its margin issues on cut sheets. The problem in essence is that the print is not centered even though it appears centered in photoshop with no problems. For example, I'm trying to print an 8x10 image on an 8.5x11 (US Letter) paper. The image is cropped and sized to be 8x10. In theory I want to have horizontal margin of 0.5" on each side and 0.25" vertical margin on each side. I've done this hundreds of times on my Epson SureColor P600. You can see from the first image that it has extra margin on the right side (similar to how it looks on Photoshop print layout). I also tried the Canon Layout program without succ. It actually prevents me from printing saying that portion of the image won't be printed (see last image).

Hi shootnprint,

When printing on cut sheet with your imagePROGRAF PRO-2600, we recommend a margin of 0.8 in. (20 mm) on top, 0.8 in. (20 mm) on bottom, and 0.2 in. (3 mm) on left and right sides. Please note the bottom margin for cut sheet depends on your OS and applications. When you are attempting to print an 8" x 10" on 8.5" x 11", the image will need to be cropped smaller. Also, the center option only works when printing on roll paper. You will need to manually adjust the placement of the image. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for your explanation. Is that some Canon planning of fixing in future driver update? This effectively renders cut sheets as useless as it's pretty tedious to dial in the margins every time. I'm honestly surprised that it behaves the way it does. Like no matter what you do, there's just part of the paper that isn't recognized by the driver (the gray part on the right side).

Based on the screenshot for the Canon printer it looks like you are selecting a Fine Art media type. Canon imposes a large margin to avoid damage to the image from head strikes. For the Pixma Pro-100 it is 30mm.

Thank you John for replying. So I tried your theory and switched to Plain Paper, but as you can see below, I can't define the 0.25" & 0.5" margins.

The problem I'm facing with cut sheets is this gray part on the right side that is part of the paper but can't print on it. When you start with the app with blank canvas and the moment you set to Cut Sheet you have this weird gray part on the right side that's clipped of the canvas.

When you send to print in the software you are using, and choose the printer, go to the settings tab that is activated once selected.

On the 1st screen make sure to check the square that says show preview before printing.

Once you select the rest of the parameters you want, you give ok to everything and it takes you back to your software where you are working.

You center the work area there. And you press Done. Don't Print,

Go Once again to the print tab and now yes you select print.

In the preview that rises you will be able to Center your work as well, this one if it is directly even in the print area of the driver.

With this you should have the same margr

If you still want to have no margin at all. Make sure you are selecting a paper size from which your printer assimilates check the borderless option.

I am having the same problem. I am surprised there is no clear answer from Canon and so far as I can see the product manuals do not provide an answer. I believe the reason is that the Pro-2600, and the other roll printers, do not have the needed media handing to allow printing the end of the sheet. The minimum allowed margin on the trailing edge is 0.79". That is one of the problems using roll fed printers with cut sheets. I am disappointed in the ability to make prints with the Pro-2600 using sheet media. I wish Canon documentation and specs were more clear. I hope someone will correct me and explain how to get the printer to have smaller margins on the trailing edge of sheets.
