    <description>&lt;P&gt;This was bought without my knowledge and they want me to set it up. I can't figure out how to setup the scanner at all. They want to be able to scan to email, is this possible? I have the scanning part plugged into the network and it has an IP but I can't get to it at all.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Launch the remote UI.&lt;BR /&gt;Start up Remote UI&lt;BR /&gt;2. Select Printer settings.&lt;BR /&gt;3. Select Set mail server.&lt;BR /&gt;4. Specify mail server settings.&lt;BR /&gt;Specify the following items.&lt;BR /&gt;• Sender address&lt;BR /&gt;Enter the e-mail address of the sender (this printer).&lt;BR /&gt;• Outgoing mail server (SMTP)&lt;BR /&gt;Enter the address of your SMTP server.&lt;BR /&gt;• Port number (SMTP)&lt;BR /&gt;Enter the port number of your SMTP server.&lt;BR /&gt;• Secure connection (SSL)&lt;BR /&gt;Select if you use the secure connection (SSL).&lt;BR /&gt;• Don't verify certificates&lt;BR /&gt;Select if you do not verify the certificate.&lt;BR /&gt;• Authentication&lt;BR /&gt;Select one of the following authentication methods.&lt;BR /&gt;◦ SMTP authentication&lt;BR /&gt;Select if you send e-mail with SMTP authentication.&lt;BR /&gt;Next, you can specify the following settings.&lt;BR /&gt;▪ Outgoing account&lt;BR /&gt;Enter the account name&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However, if you see my screenshot I don't have those settings at all.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="cowadmin_0-1738357599842.png" style="width: 400px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/63702iFE9D9E34F48153B5/image-size/medium?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="cowadmin_0-1738357599842.png" alt="cowadmin_0-1738357599842.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm more looking at the scanner. It appears to have it's own network connection which I have plugged in and can ping it. From what I can tell you can only scan to a PC and not email, is this correct? I can't get it to find any PC on the network.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
