Hi Team,

may I ask if Canon printer supports to use Mimecast SMTP?

model: Canon iR-ADV C5535

I tried to change the SMTP server from smtp2go to Mimecast SMTP, when I applied the change and tested the SMTP, it appeared an error 'Could not find the server. Check the SMTP server settings, the DNS settings, and the SMTP server status.'

SMTP server: de-smtp-outbound-1.mimecast.com or de-smtp-outbound-2.mimecast.com

the SMTP username and password are correct, and DNS I tried to use my internal company DNS and Google DNS, still had the same error.

and the port number I already changed from the printer, Port: 587

once I change the SMTP server and account back to SMTP2GO, the SMTP can work.

mail.smtp2go.com

I am wondering if the Canon printer SMTP server does not support the Mimecast SMTP?

https://community.mimecast.com/s/article/email-security-cloud-gateway-configuring-outbound-smtp-authentication-for-devices

Thanks for joining the conversation, NoNeedLogin!

While our forum community members are welcome to chime in, Canon does not provide direct support for imageRUNNER series products. Instead, your dealer will be able to help you! If you don't have a dealer and you're in the United States, please call us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) and we will be happy to provide you with the names of dealers in your area.

If you're outside the USA, visit http://global.canon and choose your country or region from the map for local support.

We hope this helps!

Try port 486 and 25 with encryption turned on. Yes I know they say 587, but I have seen way too many times they are wrong (have no idea why). This is an issue on MIME cast and not the machine if this is the case.

Hi all,

thanks for the reply, I have sorted out the problem.

My network team blocked port 587 on my office network.

I have let him open it, now the printer can use mimecast SMTP.
