Can't setup Email on C478

We just purchased a copier from local print company. It's a Canon iR-ADV C478. It is not letting setup the email configuration with a google account. I have google searched and watched several videos and I've done everything they say. I noticed, that in my settings, it doesn't have an option to allow SSL. Is this why it's not working? If so, how do I get that fixed?
