I'm curious if there's a way to check a serial number to see if a printer is stolen.

I found a good deal on a new in box 5535, but want to make sure it's clean.

You should only purchase Canon products from an authorized dealer:

If the person or party is not on the list, I would avoid buying from them. Buying stolen or Grey market merchandise might make the product ineligible for service and support. Its not worth the risk.
