imagerunner advance DX diagonally fed sensor

Every day, I have to scan in checks at my office, which're varying sizes. With my office's old printer, you could load them up, and they'd scan. Now, I'm getting "Originals may have been fed diagonally. Check the following:" Then it gives the option to "set sensor of diagonally fed originals to off temporarily," which I do. I cannot find a way to turn it off indefinitely.
