Hi Celina,

If the router does not support WPS, you would have to use the steps to temporarily set the printer up via USB to set up the wireless. Unfortuantely Windows XP does not support WCN, so without WPS, using the USB cable to set up the wireless would be your only option.

Hello,

I am trying to install the wireless capacity for my mp495 printer onto my laptop. I currently use a Cox router, (for which I cannot find the wps button or maintenance button).

If I cannot find the wps button on my router, then do i have to use the WCN Method (using a usb flash/thumb drive) in order to connect my laptop to my printer wirelessly WITHOUT using the usb cable that would usually connect my laptop to my printer?

How would I do that if I have Windows XP, not Windows 7 or Windows Vista????
