How can I install my Canon MX340 printer to my laptop.

I have a Compaq Presorio CQ56 Laptop and I'm having problems getting my laptop to operate wireless to my Canon MX340. Can you give me step by step directions on getting this my printer connected to work wireless to my laptop.

They're carefully written by Canon and should be quite helpful.

im trying to plug in printer an use it i pluged it in to the side of the usb plug in on sides of the lab top?
