surface pro cant find wireless mx922 (can print from ipad and iPhone)

i have a mx922 canon printer on a wireless router. I can print from my iphone and ipad (these have found the printer wirelessly) but I can't get my surface pro to "find" the wireless printer. I tried having the printer re-find the wlan while having the surface search for the printer but no luck.

Hello.

Our latest drivers will have to be installed in order to use the printer on your Surface Pro tablet.

Visit www.usa.canon.com and search for your MX922 to access the downloads. Make sure that the tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer and your iOS devices before performing the installation.
