    <description>&lt;P&gt;I am a bit stumped right now.&amp;nbsp; I am trying to get my new MacBook air to connect to the scanner of my MG5420.&amp;nbsp; for some reason, I am not able to get the laptop to connect to the scanner portion.&amp;nbsp; I have installed the IJ scan utility2 v 2.3.8, IJ scan light, the ICA printer drivers, nothing works.&amp;nbsp; I thought maybe the scanner was broken so I installed the drivers on my Windows 10 machine and they work fine.&amp;nbsp; So the scanner is working as it should.&amp;nbsp; I tried to find the TWAIN drivers for mac but could not find them.&amp;nbsp; I even tried to connect to the printer via a USB cable, that did not work either.&amp;nbsp; I am getting really frustrated over this issue.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What am I missing?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Laptop is running mac osx 11.1.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi pantegra,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The PIXMA MG5420 is not supported with macOS v11 (Big Sur).&amp;nbsp; Because of this, there are no drivers available.&amp;nbsp; The last version that was supported was macOS v10.12 (Sierra).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The PIXMA MG5420 is compatible with Airprint, so you should be able to print and scan.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.
