how do I turn OFF wifi capability on my PIXMA MX 439 printer?

After a recent partitioning of my hhd, I installed the drivers for my MX439 combo unit (from Canon's website) and attempted to use said unit.

I got an error message that indicated the printer wasn't communicating with the computer. I ran the diagnostics program

from Canon's web site (Canon IJ My Printer) and everything was installed correctly but I got a new error message... Printer not responding.

According to the diagnostic program everything is correct and operating but there is no sending of data to the printer.

My setup is: Windows 7, printer is on virtual USB port 001 connected by a usb printer cable (changed twice) the wifi indicator is lit but is not detected on my network map the printer is NOT shared.

While the printer doesn't operate the copier and fax operations do.

Any help is appreciated.
