Cannot print from my Android Phone

I have a Pixma MX492 and have followed directions from the manual. I have also donwloaded the Canon Printer App to my Samsung S5 phone and tried printing from that phone, No luck! I cannot print from my old Sony Vaio lapatop too.

Should I just buy an additional cable to print from my laptop? Is my android phone not compatible with the Printer? Please helpppp.... I just biught this from BestBuy this morning and I'm having second thoughts of maybe just exchanging it with a diff brand.
